District of Columbia

In the state of District Columbia you are eligible to have your records sealed if you are able to petition and prove that you were not guilty for charges in question. Additionally, in some cases you are eligible to have your records sealed if they are of misdemeanor-nature, however this is not always guaranteed and is saved for only a select few misdemeanor charges, per D.C. Code ยง 16-803. Many charges, such as drunk-driving, are understandably ineligible for pardoning or record expungement.
