Michigan is actually quite generous in it’s expungement process and system in that most misdemeanors and some felonies can be expunged five years from the date of guilty-verdict and/or prison term. However, interestingly enough, expungement—known as ‘set aside’ in the state of Massachusetts—will not be considered for traffic offenses. If you were since convicted of a crime in another state, a crime with the potential of a live sentence—including attempt—you will be ineligible for record expungement or having your records ‘set aside’.
