Ohio is rather fair with it’s terms of record sealing (expungement) in that first time offenders of both misdemeanors and some felonies are eligible to request expungement after one to three years (misdemeanor to felony). Violent crimes, sex crimes, and even most vehicle offenses cannot be expunged nor sealed. Those who committed a crime(s) prior to or after their first offense are not eligible for the first time offenders initiative expungement process, regardless of time elapsed.
