Most crimes, regardless of misdemeanor or felony level are not eligible for record expungement or sealing in the state of Tennessee unless under a first-time offenders program, those later acquitted, or successful completion of probation and articulated terms that would otherwise offer such an ability to later seal arrest and conviction record(s). Excluding sex crimes and DUI’s many first time offenders enjoy the ability to request expungement for their crimes, with the exception of most felony offenses under this category, regardless of its first-offense nature.
